Launch Party

Stone in Bloom working group Invites you to the launch of their 2011 campaign in the R H S Heart of England in Bloom competition. It is one of the largest horticultural campaigns in Europe and the group hopes to add to their previous years successes in winning yet another gold in the large town category this year.

This year the Stone In Bloom group will try to impress the judges with a diverse range of community projects ranging from litter picking, The Best Garden Competition, The Best Schools Garden and even sustainable environmental planting of wild flowers on the Crown Meadow.

The Stone in Bloom working group are proud of the strong link forged over the past three years with the Stafford Borough’s Streetscene, and County Highways who are tireless in their work to improve the Town.

This year at the launch, the group will announce their new Friends of Stone in Bloom initiative. Chairman Antony Lucas said, “ The generosity of the Stone traders and businesses offering discounts to the Friends of Stone in Bloom, has been overwhelming, out of those asked only three declined to participate”.

You don’t have to be good at gardening to take part, but enthusiasm and a sense of civic pride does help. Join in the fun of the launch on Saturday April 2nd at 7.30pm in ST. Dominic's Centre Station Road Stone, where following a short presentation a hot supper will be served.

Entrance free.  Further details available from The Secretary Jill Hood on 07736 413097.
